Of all the events in history, there are, only four that matter. 1) The Birth of Christ, 2) The Death of Christ, 3) The Resurrection of Christ, and 4) The Return of Christ. No other event can trump these four, though some may endeavor to try.
The Birth of Jesus Christ
Jesus had both a human mother and God as His father. The important point is for an individual to accept this as truth. Thus, Jesus was both God and man by this transcendent birth.
Isaiah the prophet foretold of this birth of Jesus over a thousand years before it had come to pass.
In Isaiah 7:14, it says,
14 “Therefore the Lord Himself will give you a sign: Behold, a virgin will be with child and bear a son, and she will call His name Immanuel.
Joseph was a good man and loved Mary, and yet because she was pregnant, he was going to release her privately. However, God through an Angel spoke to him in a dream and said this child is of The Holy Spirit do not be afraid to take her as a wife.
In Matthew 1:25, it says,
25 but kept her a virgin until she gave birth to a Son, and he called His name Jesus.
The foundation of the Church and Christianity is dependent on the Virgin Birth of Jesus Christ. Anything less and it all crumbles into dust, and this being the desire of the atheist. For without Jesus Christ as a reality, everything else thus, becomes subjective.
The Death of Jesus Christ
A friend betrayed Jesus for money, and this put Jesus Christ to death on a Roman Cross. The Son of God paid the highest price ever given to redeem humanity from the doorway to hell.
What is the standard fee for betrayal today is it, fame, fortune, glamor or is it the personal freedom to do whatever one so desires? Dear friend, none of this will bring happiness.
In Matthew 26:14-16, it says,
14 Then one of the twelve, named Judas Iscariot, went to the chief priests 15 and said, “What are you willing to give me to betray Him to you?” Moreover, they weighed out thirty pieces of silver to him. 16 From then on he began looking for a good opportunity to betray Jesus.
Judas Iscariot found that the thirty pieces of silver for his betrayal of Jesus drove him to commit suicide.
In Matthew 27:3-5, it says,
3 Then when Judas, who had betrayed Him, saw that He had been condemned, he felt remorse and returned the thirty pieces of silver to the chief priests and elders, 4 saying, “I have sinned by betraying innocent blood.” However, they said, “What is that to us? See to that yourself!” 5 Moreover, he threw the pieces of silver into the temple sanctuary and departed, and he went away and hanged himself.
Jesus’s love put Him on the cross for each of us. The Cross of Jesus Christ was the sins of all humanity and nothing less. It was not the Roman soldiers who nailed Jesus to the cross it was all of us. Every down stroke with, the hammer drove the nail deeper into the wrist of Jesus, and this nail was right where there is a major nerve that gave extreme pain. The crown of thorns pushed onto His head was each sin of humanity that drove those thorns deep into His skin. The scourging of His back ripped flesh from each lash received; this is how much Jesus loves us because He took this beating for us.
In Isaiah 53:5, it says,
5 However, He was pierced through for our transgressions; He was crushed for our iniquities; The chastening for our well-being fell upon Him, And by His scourging, we are healed.
Jesus died, upon the cross for all humanity.
In Matthew 27:46, it says,
46 About the ninth hour, Jesus cried out with a loud voice, saying, “ELI, ELI, LAMA SABACHTHANI?” that is, “MY GOD, MY GOD, WHY HAVE YOU FORSAKEN ME?”
Please, think carefully about this verse for one can see that for a single moment in eternity that the God of Creation had to turn His back on His only Son. God could not look upon the sin that Jesus took upon Himself, so we as sinners may have forgiveness. Can one truly comprehend the pain that Jesus Christ went through for all humanity that His Father turned His back on Him, no we cannot?
The Resurrection of Jesus Christ
Without the resurrection of Jesus, the Church would not exist today, and all our efforts would be in vain. However, thanks be to the God of Creation for; Christ did rise from the dead as the Scriptures promised He would.
In Matthew 27:52-54, it says,
52 The tombs were opened, and many bodies of the saints who had fallen asleep were raised; 53 and coming out of the tombs after His resurrection they entered the holy city and appeared to many. 54 Now the centurion, and those who were with him, keeping guard over Jesus, when they saw the earthquake and the things that were happening, became petrified and said, “Truly this was the Son of God!”
These guards charged with watching over the tomb unequivocally stated, “Truly this was the Son of God.” The Jewish high priest tried to keep this quiet, but to no avail.
In John 11:25-26, it says,
25 Jesus said to her, “I am the resurrection and the life; he who believes in Me will live even if he dies, 26 and everyone who lives and believes in Me will never die. Do you believe this?”
If one believes that Jesus is the “resurrection and the life” than eternal life will be granted to them.
The Coming of Christ
In Revelation 19:11-19, it says,
11 Moreover, I saw heaven opened, and behold, a white horse, and He who sat on it is called Faithful and True, and in righteousness He judges and wages war. 12 His eyes are a flame of fire, and on His head, are many diadems, and He has a name written on Him which no one knows except Himself. 13 He is clothed with a robe dipped in blood, and His name is called The Word of God. 14 And the armies which are in heaven, clothed in fine linen, white and clean, were following Him on white horses. 15 From His mouth comes a sharp sword, so that with it He may strike down the nations, and He will rule them with a rod of iron; and He treads the winepress of the fierce wrath of God, the Almighty. 16 Moreover, on His robe and His thigh, He has a name written, “KING OF KINGS, AND LORD OF LORDS.” 17 Then I saw an angel standing in the sun, and he cried out with a loud voice, saying to all the birds which fly in midheaven, “Come, assemble for the great supper of God, 18 so that you may eat the flesh of kings and the flesh of commanders and the flesh of mighty men and the flesh of horses and of those who sit on them and the flesh of all men, both free men, and slaves, and small and great.” 19 Moreover, I saw the beast and the kings of the earth and their armies assembled to make war against Him who sat on the horse and against His army.
In Revelation 14:14-16, it says,
14 Then I looked, and behold, a white cloud, and sitting on the cloud was one like a son of man, having a golden crown on His head and a sharp sickle in His hand. 15 And another angel came out of the temple, crying out with a loud voice to Him who sat on the cloud, “Put in your sickle and reap, for the hour to reap has come, because the harvest of the earth is ripe.” 16 Then He who sat on the cloud swung His sickle over the earth, and the earth was reaped.
Jesus was coming to claim His Church, Hallelujah.
A simple conclusion is if one wants part of this resurrection and eternal life than he or she must confess their sins.
In 1 John 1:9, it says,
9 If we confess our sins, He is faithful and righteous to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.
In John 3:17-18, it says,
17 “For God did not send the Son into the world to judge the world, but that the world might be saved through Him. 18 “He who believes in Him is not judged; he who does not believe has been judged already because he has not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God.
