Simplicity of Faith

It is hard to see the honesty; many have in pushing Faith as a “blind leap.” This article will try to show that Faith is “concrete,” and rest in the person of Jesus Christ.

What is Faith?

Scripture holds the key to interpreting its self. Spiritual truth, opened to believers if they take the time to read and meditate on God’s Word.

Isaiah 1:18, says,

18 Come now, and let us reason together, Says the LORD, though your sins are as scarlet, they will be as snow; Though they are red as crimson, they will be as wool (NASB).

Sin corrupts our nature, but God’s prevenient grace is, that He came to us first, not we to Him. The Lord is saying we must use the reasoning power He gave us. He wants us to understand that we are, sin-sick, but if we obey Him, He will change our sin from scarlet to snow-white. The blind leap shows we as individuals are making the first move toward God, this is so wrong.

Reasoning with the Lord shows He is as real as you or me. To reason with someone, both must exist. The Lord is physical and spiritual even though one cannot see Him now.

God understood the man could not accept Him without first knowing he or she is a sinner. Therefore, God wants to reason with us.

Romans 10:17, says,

17 So faith comes from hearing and hearing by the word of Christ (NASB).

How to find hope is to be in God’s Word every day. Feasting at this banquet table one finds their confidence in the truth one sees going back to the start of time. As one considers creation by the hand of the creator God, one can see that faith or trust or whatever one, so desires to call it, rests in a real being, not an abstraction.

Therefore, the object of that faith is the Lord Jesus Christ. There is no blind leap, never was there a jump.

Brothers and sisters, we are on the verge of a great battle, and if we do not know where our faith lies, well just think of what could happen. The blind leap leads to a jump to the Abyss of Despair. Our Faith is in the Lord Jesus Christ, a real person with promises in His Word to come and redeem His own.

Look at Our Parents

When our mom and dad told us, we were their biological Child; we believed and trusted them. We must trust when God says we are His creation.

Leading us to where our faith rests in a real person, not a blind leap. The leap does not know the results, but true faith knows the ending, eternal life with God and Jesus Christ.

Our sinful nature has corrupted us, but God’s prevenient grace is, that He came to us first, not we to Him. He said, “Come now; and let us reason together.” God opens the door, and now we must decide, either stay on the wrong side or run to the arms of God in repentance.

Whom do you put your faith and trust in, this jump or in the actual person of Jesus Christ?

Romans 10:17, says,

17 So faith comes from hearing and hearing by the word of Christ (NASB).

The Word of God is real, and it has stood the test of time and will remain for eternity.

Isaiah 40:8, says,

8 The grass withers, the flower fades, But the word of our God stands endlessly (NASB).

Again, I ask where do you put your faith and trust, in the leap of faith or a real person. My hope and confidence is in the Creator God, Jesus Christ, and the Holy Spirit not a blind leap of faith. Where is yours?

About Dr. George Gallant

I have had the opportunity to work in many fields in my life, and excelled in all of them. I started as a mechanic in the Army then went to the Infantry in Vietnam. After returning to America, I worked as a mechanic for a few more years off and on until I found a position as a Dialysis Technician until I became a Chief specialist in a major Boston hospital. In 1981, I became a Police Office in a small town in Northeast Georgia and continued to work with law-enforcement for seven years. I also preached the Word of God in the Toccoa community and wished that I could have found a church that would have taken me on to preach every week. In 1993, I became a computer programmer for many years and loved that job much. In 2003, my wife came down with the worst breast cancer one could get, so I retired and took care of her until her passing in 2006. Then in 2007, I moved to China and started teaching both verbal English and American History to high-school students; this by far was the best job I ever had.
